LG has unveiled the Optimus One – its latest smartphone running the Google Android platform. The candy bar handset measures 114x59x13mm and also benefits it from Froyo – version 2.2 of the mobile platform which includes support for Flash.
The 170MB internal memory can be expanded with a Micro SD card up to 32GB, and the smartphone also comes with a 3Mp camera with face-tracking and smile capture technology, Assisted-GPs, a music player and LG’s App Advisor, which recommends 10 highly rated applications every two weeks. It seems that Samsung will release a new smartphone called Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 3.0 and 2GHz processor. The Samsung Galaxy S, with its fast processor, impressive graphics performance and super AMOLED display one of the most popular Android smartphones on the market. Now there are rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S successor, some pictures have already surfaced. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a nicely sized tablet that offers the flexibility of Google’s Android OS, making it a valid alternative to the iPad. However, the Galaxy Tab feels far less slick and polished in many areas than Apple’s tablet, especially when it comes to Web browsing. We also feel the Galaxy Tab is overpriced, making it a tough sell in a soon to be crowded market.
The Galaxy Tab is a well built Android tablet, but it is a little overpriced and suffers from a few niggling faults. The Samsung Galaxy Tab’s body is constructed entirely of plastic but this doesn’t diminish its aesthetic appeal. The gloss black frame contrasts nicely with the gloss white rear. This makes the Galaxy Tab more comfortable to hold and carry than the iPad; we particularly love the fact that it is easy to operate with a single hand, and slips easily into the pocket of a suit jacket. There have been lots of buzz on Verizon new edition of iPhone coming to the market by this year. Without the iPhone, Motorola manufactured Android based phones have been the top selling phone on Verizon and with its pleasant appearance, we are so excited to see the performance of Motorola when the Verizon iPhone finally becomes accessible.
